EDINBORO, Pa. -- Volleyball's Makayla Neelands and soccer's Samantha Saylor earned the first Rebich Investments Fighting Scots of the Week honors for their outstanding performances in the first week of the 2026-27 season.

Neelands led the Edinboro offense as the volleyball team opened with a 3-1 performance at the Hall of Fame City Challenge this past weekend. She finished with 50 kills, 48 digs and a pair of service aces.

Saylor had a strong two-way showing for the Scots picking up a pair of shots while also delivering a strong defensive effort in the midfield. She got the Scot offense out the gate early against IUP with a shot on goal in the fourth minute and helped to maintain the 1-0 advantage through solid defensive play helping secure a victory.
