EDINBORO, Pa. — The Edinboro women's cross country team won the Doug Watts Open Saturday afternoon at the Doug Watts Cross Country Course.
Madeline Hammond finished second overall with a time of 19:01.9.
Katie Slimon was next across the line in third 19:21.3.
Kadi Bauer finished in 19:26.0 to place fourth.
Bailey White made her collegiate debut finishing seventh in a time of 19:54.7.
Kat Shope rounded out the scoring times in 10th with a time of 20:01.1.
"It's kind of nice to see Maddie Hammond be our number one today," said head coach
Jamison Dietrich. "Last year we had three different girls be our number one at some point, and Maddie was our number two multiple times, never quite was a number 1."
Dietrich said the order could continue to shift throughout the season: "This whole year, I think it's gonna be a revolving door of what our order the women finish in. We don't have some big front runner, but I think we'll be really deep, from one through seven, eight, nine."
The Fighting Scots travel to Rochester, N.Y., for the Harry F Anderson Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 12 a.m.
