KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Edinboro women's volleyball team defeated Findlay 3-2 on Saturday, rallying from a 2-1 deficit in their final game at the Javelina Volleyball Challenge on Saturday.
Maggie Koster's opening service turn put the Scots in front 6-0 in the opening set.

Laney Burns assists during the run. The Oilers worked back into the set and pulled even at 12-12, but the Scots continued to answer with kills from Parent,
Makayla Neelands and
Taylor Pucky as the score moved through ties at 16-16, 18-18 and 21-21. After the Oilers moved ahead 24-22, Lockett and Neelands had consecutive kills to tie the set, and the Scots later led 25-24 on an Oiler attack error and 27-26 on a
Faith Schneider service ace. The Oilers responded with the final three points, getting kills from Kirsten Bomholt and Abria Lomax before closing the set 29-27.
The second set was tied at 4-4 before the Scots moved in front 11-6, using a Pucky kill, a Parent-Lockett block and two Oiler attack errors during the early separation. The Oilers got one point back, but a service error returned serve to the Scots, and
Grace Petro served through a run that included her ace, a Lockett kill and a Neelands kill to make it 17-7. The Scots reached 23-13 on another Pucky kill and a Neelands ace, then the Oilers scored three straight before the Scots closed the set 25-18 on a service error.
After the Oilers moved ahead 8-6 in the third set, the Scots scored six straight points to lead 12-8, with Neelands serving the final five and adding an ace while Parent, Pucky and Koster put down kills. Pucky added another kill and Koster followed with a service ace to make it 14-10, and the Scots still led 17-14 after a Neelands kill. The Oilers answered with five straight points, including a Claire Schoenberger service ace and a Hannah Miller kill, to move ahead 19-17. After an Oilers attack error, consecutive Parent kills tied the set at 21-21, but the Oilers reached set point at 24-21 and, after Pucky's kill, closed the set 25-22 on a Lilly Barhorst kill.
The Oilers built a 7-1 lead early in the fourth set, with Hannah Miller serving through an ace and kills by Claire Davis and Victoria Mescher. The Scots worked back into the set as Neelands served a four-point stretch that included her ace, two Parent kills and a Pucky-Koster block to cut it to 9-8, and Lockett later put down a kill before an Oilers attack error tied it at 12-12. After the Oilers moved ahead 14-13, the Scots took the lead with a service error, a Koster-Pucky block, a Koster kill and a Koster-Neelands block, then Pucky's kill pushed the score to 18-15. The Oilers came back to lead 24-22, but Neelands delivered back-to-back kills, Lilly Barhorst committed an attack error and Koster finished the set with a kill to give the Scots a 26-24 win.
The Scots erased a 6-4 deficit in the fifth set when an Oilers service error was followed by a Parent kill, two Neelands aces and a Pucky kill for a 9-6 lead. The Oilers answered with kills from Hannah Miller and Victoria Mescher to get within 9-8, but Parent and Pucky put away kills before an Oilers attack error and Petro ace pushed the Scots ahead 13-9. The Oilers closed the gap to 13-11 and later 14-12, but Lockett's kill gave the Scots set point, and a Zoya Winkelfoos bad set closed the fifth set for the Scots, 15-12.
Parent finished with 18 kills and 18 digs for the Scots. Neelands added 13 kills, five service aces, 22 digs and 19 points. Schneider collected 23 digs and added six assists. Burns recorded 31 assists across five sets.
The Scots return to action when they face Jefferson on Friday at 11 a.m. in Lock Haven, Pa.
