Derrick Cook

Cook joined the PennWest Edinboro Men’s Basketball staff as Assistant Coach in August of 2021.

The San Antonio, Texas native enters his third season on the Edinboro Fighting Scots staff. Cook plays an integral part in the program assisting in recruiting, practice planning, scouting reports, skill development, video coordination, and all operational tasks.

Cook also enters his third year as the Program Coordinator Center of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at PennWest Edinboro.

Prior to arriving in Edinboro, Cook was an Administrative Assistant on the Men’s Basketball staff at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi for the 2020-2021 season under head coach Willis Wilson.

As a student-athlete, Cook attended Murray State College(OK), an NJCAA Division 1 school competing in Region 2. Cook ultimately landed at the illustrious Huston-Tillotson University located in Austin, TX. He started 40+ games in two seasons for the Rams while serving as Team Captain, receiving awards for Honor Roll and Character.

Cook graduated from Byron P. Steele II High School, received his undergraduate degree From Huston-Tillotson, and is currently pursuing his MBA at PennWest Global Online.
