INDIANA, Pa. – One day after opening the 2012-13 campaign in the Westminster Relays, the Edinboro men's swimming team competed in its first dual meet. The Fighting Scots suffered a 141-116 loss at Indiana(Pa.).
Despite the loss the Fighting Scots turned in no fewer than 12 PSAC-qualifying performances and won six events.
Tony Romanini led the way with three first place finishes, and he qualified for the PSAC's in all three events. He started off with a win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.44, then completed the sweep with a win in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.89). Finally, he touched first in the 200-yard IM (1:58.87).
Ryan Sestak and
Darren Suroviec each took part in a pair of wins, including the 200-yard freestyle relay along with
Jared Malecki and
Seth Dippold. Sestak won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.51. He was second in the 200-yard freestyle with another PSAC-qualifying time (1:51.48). Suroviec won the 50-yard freestyle (22.22) and was second in the 100-yard butterfly (52.55).
