Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (Oct. 11, 2013) – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to PSAC-leader California Pa. on Friday, Oct. 11 at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots used 16 kills in the first set, including eight from
Megan Branchick to earn a 25-22 victory. The undefeated Vulcans responded with three straight set wins, by scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-19 to capture the conference win on the road.
With the loss, Edinboro moves to 12-8 on the season and 5-3 in PSAC play, while California (Pa.) improves to 15-4 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the conference.
The trio of Branchick,
Tabitha Meeks and
Marah Maycock led the Boro attack with 12 kills apiece, while
Katie Felix recorded 34 assists.
Haley Marett posted 20 digs, with
Tabitha Meeks also reaching double-digits with 14 digs on the night.
Laurel Miller led the Vulcans with 17 kills, while Molly Delaney added 11. Julie Henderson dished out 39 assists on the game.
The Fighting Scots get right back to work tomorrow, when they host Seton Hill. Game time for the PSAC matchup is set for 3 p.m. from McComb Fieldhouse. The match marks the first conference contest between Edinboro and the PSAC newcomer Griffins.
Saturday's game has also been tabbed Dig For the Cure Day, as the Fighting Scot volleyball program will raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
