Fighting Scots Rally at Seton Hill, Kelly Ties Record

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) GREENSBURG, Pa. (October 2, 2013) - The Edinboro women's soccer team overcame a first half deficit to beat Seton Hill 3-1 on Wednesday, October 2. With the win the Fighting Scots are now 6-3-0 overall, 4-3-0 in the PSAC. The victory is also noteworthy for the record books, as goalkeeper Meghan Kelly recorded her 25th career win, which puts her in a tie for first place in school history.

The Fighting Scots fell behind early in the game as Madison Gourley scored at the 2:19 mark for Seton Hill, her second of the season. The rest of the first half would remain scoreless, as Edinboro trailed 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Edinboro had little trouble scoring. Allyson Overly scored her second goal of the season to tie the game in the 51st minute. After that, Reilee DuPratt had an assist to Alex Brown, who tacked on her fourth goal of the year. Brown wasn't content with the 2-1 lead and scored her fifth goal of the season to give the Fighting Scots the final score of 3-1. Alexis Becker was credited with an assist on the final goal.

In 40 career starts, Kelly now has a winning percentage of 62.5. The 25 wins are currently tied with Kate Stukbauer for most all-time.

Edinboro is now on a three-game winning streak while Seton Hill has dropped five consecutive matches and is now 2-7-0 overall and in the PSAC. The Fighting Scots return to action on Friday, October 4 when they face Pitt-Johnstown for Homecoming and Senior Day.

·         Alex Brown's five goals are now tied for the team lead with Liz Debo
·         Alexis Becker and Reilee DuPratt each recorded their first career points
·         The Fighting Scots are now 5-0 all-time when Allyson Overly scores
·         Edinboro's road record is now at 2-2 and this is the first time they've won back-to-back road games since September of last season.
