Clements, Costello, and Debo Honored Daktronics All-Region

2013 Daktronics All-Region Women's Soccer – Atlantic Region

EDINBORO, Pa (November 25, 2013) - Lauralee Clements, Becca Costello, and Liz Debo today were named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic Women's Soccer Team. All three players were honored earlier this month as first-team All-PSAC performers. Costello and Debo each made the All-Region first-team while Clements was named to the second-team. All three Fighting Scots honored started all 20 games this year including the NCAA Tournament game against Shippensburg.

Debo was named first-team All-Region last season as well. The junior forward led the Fighting Scots in goals (11) and points (24). She was second in goals in the PSAC and tied for third in total points in the conference. Debo's 11 goals are tied for the eighth-most in Edinboro history and moves her career total to 32, placing her in fourth place all-time and just five goals behind current Edinboro assistant coach Jamie Sallie.

After earning All-PSAC honors for the third straight year, Costello was named to her first Daktronics All-Region team. The junior midfielder tallied seven goals this season, tied for second most on the team, and tied for the team lead in assists with four. Costello is tied for 12th in school history with 11 career assists and her 35 career points is 13th all-time.

Clements, another junior, was the leader of a Fighting Scots defense that allowed just 19 goals all season, the second lowest mark in school history. Last year, the Scots allowed only 18 goals, setting the school record. Clements was also vital in the team's eight shutouts. She added three goals and three assists for nine points. Clements' three goals were tied for the second most among the eight defenders named to the All-Region team.

Mani Brueckner of Gannon was named the Daktronics Atlantic Player of the Year.
Edinboro finished the year 12-6-2. The Fighting Scots made the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season, losing to Shippensburg 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.
