EDINBORO, Pa. (Oct. 15, 2014) – The Edinboro volleyball team extended its winning streak to four matches in a row with a 25-14, 25-23, 25-23 win over Ursuline on Wednesday night at McComb Fieldhouse. It marked last non-conference match of
Sydney Trathenthe year as the Fighting Scots close out the regular season with nine consecutive PSAC matches. Edinboro improved to 18-6 overall while the Arrows, members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, fell to 13-4. The 18 wins matches last year's win total when the Fighting Scots ended the year at 18-18.
Edinboro cruised to the first game win, but then had to hold on in the next two matches. The second match saw the Fighting Scots rally from a 22-18 deficit. In game number three, the Scots led 24-18, only to see Ursuline run off five points in a row before Edinboro closed out the win.
Marah Maycock paced Edinboro with 9 kills and added 11 digs.
Tabitha Meeks contributed 8 kills, with
Latoya Hutchinson and
Jen Gruber with 7 kills apiece.
Haley Marett had 14 digs while
Sydney Trathen totaled 25 assists and
Katie Felix 15 along with 9 digs.
Edinboro will get back into PSAC action on Friday night, hosting Clarion. The Golden Eagles are first in the PSAC West. That's followed by a Saturday home match vs. Indiana(Pa.).
