Edinboro Edged by Seton Hill 3-2 in PSAC Road Contest

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Despite owning a 61-45 advantage in kills, the Edinboro volleyball team fell in five sets to host Seton Hill 3-2 (25-15, 19-25, 25-22, 19-25, 10-15) on Friday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup in Greensburg, Pa. The Fighting Scots drop to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference with the loss, while the Griffins improve to 15-2 and 6-2 on the season.
 
Edinboro was plagued by 12 service errors and six receiving errors on the night, the ladder figure tying a season-high. The Fighting Scots' 90 digs represent a season-best and their 61 total kills tied a season-high.
 
With 21 digs on the night, Haley Marett moved into second place among career dig leaders in Edinboro history. The senior libero now has 1,711 career digs. 

Challen Litwiler also added 21 digs for Edinboro. 

Marah Maycock and Jen Gruber led four Fighting Scots with double-figure kills, each tallying 13 kills to lead the Edinboro attack. Maycock was also one of five Fighting Scots with double-figure digs with 17 on the night.
 
Sydney Trathen recorded a team-high 23 assists to go along with 11 kills and 11 digs. Katie Felix contributed 13 digs and 21 assists.  Maria Concheck added 11 kills for Edinboro, as well.  
 
Cassie Hausfield led all players with 14 kills for the Griffins, followed by Corrine Gahegan with 13 kills. Courtney Field and Lauren Teed posted game-highs of 31 assists and 24 digs, respectively.
 
Edinboro returns to action tomorrow afternoon at California (Pa.) at 1 p.m.
