CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23) decision at the hands of California (Pa.) in a PSAC road contest on Saturday afternoon in California, Pa. The Fighting Scots move to 13-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play with the loss, while the Vulcans boosted their record to 13-5 and 7-2 on the season.

Trailing 23-13 in the first set, Edinboro went on a 10-1 run to cut the California lead to 24-23. However, the Vulcans overcame the Fighting Scot rally, as a Miranda Fouzie kill sealed the 25-23 win for California to take a 1-0 lead.

In the second game, Edinboro owned a 14-9 lead after a Vulcan service error, before California outscored the Fighting Scots 16-4 for the remainder of the set to gain a 2-0 advantage with a 25-18 victory.

Facing match point at 24-18 in the third set, Edinboro rattled off five consecutive points, including two kills by Latoya Hutchinson to cut the Vulcan lead to 24-23. Unfortunately for the Fighting Scots, this late rally was not enough as a Danielle Hayes kill gave California the 25-23 set win and the 3-0 PSAC victory.
