AMHERST, N.Y. – The Edinboro volleyball team collected a 3-1 non-conference victory over host Daemen on Tuesday night in Amherst, N.Y. The Fighting Scots won the first two sets by identical scores of 25-19, before the Wildcats responded with a 25-18 triumph in the third set to cut the Edinboro lead to 2-1. The Fighting Scots would answer with a 25-20 win in the fourth set to seal the 3-1 victory.
Edinboro, who has now won 12 of its last 15 contests, boosted its record to 14-5 with the win, while the Wildcats fell to 1-18.
The Fighting Scots now own an 8-1 advantage in the all-time series with Daemen.
Marah Maycock tallied a team-high of 13 kills and a game-high 20 digs for Edinboro, followed by
Jen Gruber with nine kills.
Tabitha Meeks posted eight kills to go along with a .467 hitting percentage, while
Sydney Trathen dished out a team-high 29 assists.
Haley Marett contributed 16 digs for the Fighting Scots.
Jenna Reeser recorded a game-high 14 kills for the Wildcats.
Edinboro returns home for a nine-match home stand beginning with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Crossover weekend on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots take on Shippensburg at 11:30 a.m. and Millersville at 7 p.m. on Friday, before facing Pitt-Johnstown at 10 a.m. and Lock Haven at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
