Edinboro Sets Several School Records in 144-61 Rout of Penn State DuBois

EDINBORO, Pa. (November 25, 2014) – The Edinboro men's basketball team set a school record with 144 points as the Fighting Scots topped visiting Penn State DuBois by a score of 144-61 in a non-conference contest at McComb Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. Nine players scored in double-figures for the Fighting Scots, who improved to 3-1 on the season, while the Lions dropped to 0-6.
 
Edinboro's 144 points broke the previous program record of 133 markers set in a 133-90 victory over Lock Haven in 1967-68.

Additionally, the 83-point margin of victory snapped the previous Edinboro record of a 73-point margin, set in a 116-57 triumph over Point Park during the 1997-98 campaign.
 
The Fighting Scots also connected on a school-record 60 field goals (60-94), breaking the previous mark of 54 field goals made. This feat was accomplished twice in both 1967-68 against Lock Haven and again in 1973-74 against Alliance.
 
Edinboro reached the 100-point mark with 14:05 to play in the contest on a Sheldon Brogdon three-pointer, capping an 8-0 Fighting Scot run and putting Edinboro ahead 100-40.
 
Jeremy Lynch nailed the record-setting three-pointer to give Edinboro a 134-57 lead with 4:02 remaining in the game and propelling a 13-4 run to close the game.
 
Quinn Lee Yaw tallied game-highs of 19 points and nine rebounds to lead the Fighting Scots, making 9 of 10 field goals including three dunks. All 13 players scored for Edinboro
 
Brogdon posted a career-high 16 points on the night, sinking 6 of 10 field goal attempts and connecting on 4 of 7 shots from behind the arc. Casey Baker was a perfect 6 of 6 from the field and also scored 16 markers while tallying a game-high five steals.
 
Henri Wade-Chatman scored 15 points in just 10 minutes, followed by Mike Beck with a season-high 13 points off the bench. Will Marrow made 6 of 9 field goal attempts and finished with a career-high 12 points, while Tommy Scales recorded a season-high 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
 
Nate Stepney contributed 11 points and five assists off the bench. Jaymon Mason had 10 markers to go along with five assists and four steals. Chibunna Ukandu scored eight points and dished out a game-high six assists.
 
Lynch tallied a career-high six points, knocking down 2 of 5 tries from long range, including the record-setting three-point field goal.
 
Daryan Robinson had four points and four boards off the bench, while Sam Sealy-James scored two points and added five rebounds and two blocks.
 
Same Roselli led Penn State DuBois with 17 points, sinking 8 of 14 field goal attempts on the night to go along with a game-high four blocks. Derrick Williams and Savon Jones had 11 points apiece, while Kyle Mills and Shaimell Byrd each added 10 points for the Lions.

Edinboro held a 72-32 advantage at halftime, falling just two points shy of a school-record 74 points which was set in 1973-74 against Point Park. The Fighting Scots matched their point total in the second half, outscoring the Lions 72-29 in the closing frame.
 
Edinboro shot 60 of 94 from the floor, good for 63.8 percent, its highest total since shooting 60.0 percent from the field against Lock Haven on January 22, 2011. The Fighting Scots knocked down 18 of 35 three-pointers (51.4 percent) and 6 of 7 free throws (85.7 percent).
 
Penn State DuBois shot 43.4 percent (23-53) on the night including 33.3 percent (6-18) shots from long range. The Lions connected on 9 of 15 shots from the charity stripe, good for 60.0 percent.
 
Edinboro outrebounded Penn State DuBois 50-17 for the contest. The Fighting Scots dished out 34 assists and committed just five turnovers. Edinboro also recorded 18 steals in the win.  
 
The Fighting Scots outscored Penn State DuBois in the paint 66-22, off turnovers 47-7, on second-chance points 32-4 and on fast break points 24-2. Edinboro's bench scored 89 points while the Lions' reserves tallied 21 points.
 
The Fighting Scots return to action in an Atlantic Regional dual on Sunday afternoon, travelling to Wheeling Jesuit. The non-conference game is slated to begin at 4 p.m. in Wheeling W. Va.
