Edinboro Hosts Seton Hill on Wednesday Night

EDINBORO, Pa. (September 23, 2014) - The Edinboro women's soccer team welcomes Seton Hill into town Wednesday night for a PSAC match. The game is set for 6:00 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium. The Fighting Scots have a 1-4-1 record overall and in the PSAC while the Griffins are 3-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the conference.

Edinboro secured its first victory of the season last Saturday with a 1-0 victory against Shippensburg. The win ended a three-game losing streak. Liz Debo's goal in the 10th minute ended a 310-minute scoreless drought and was her first of the season. It was the senior forward's 33rd of her career and she is now just four goals away from tying assistant coach Jamie Sallie (formerly Jamie Tekotte) for most goals in school history.

Alex Brown is the top scorer for Edinboro. The sophomore forward has two goals for four points for the Scots.

Meghan Kelly had her 18th career shutout last Saturday which gave her sole possession for first all-time in school history. The senior goalkeeper owns a 1.29 goals against average and 75.0 save percentage this season.

Megan Warman has led the Griffins in scoring through six games. The freshman from Anaheim, Calif. has scored two goals and added two assists to total six points. Warman's 33 shots are the most in the PSAC.

Seton Hill's goalkeeper Carolin Edenhofner has been stellar in net as of late. The junior from Germany has not allowed a goal in the last 230 minutes and has turned away 13 shots in that span. She ranks seventh in the PSAC with a 0.612 goals against average.

Edinboro entered the season ranked fifth in the PSAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Seton Hill was slated to finish 14th. The Griffin's strong start to the season has them fifth in the conference while the Scots early season struggles have them in 15th place.

These two teams have met three times with Edinboro winning all three matches. The Fighting Scots have outscored the Grffins 14-3 in the series including a 3-1 victory last season in the first PSAC match between the two. Edinboro fell behind 1-0 in the first half last year but Allyson Overly's goal in the 51st minute tied the game. Alex Brown then scored twice to lock up the victory.

The Fighting Scots have one more game this week following Wednesday's contest. Edinboro will travel to Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, September 27 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
