Edinboro Wins Third Straight Game with 77-54 Triumph over Seton Hill

EDINBORO, Pa. (January 28, 2015) – Five Fighting Scots scored in double-figures, including a career-high 17 markers by Will Marrow as the Edinboro men's basketball team topped visiting Seton Hill 77-54 in a PSAC Western Division matchup on Wednesday night at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots won their third consecutive game to improve to 10-16 on the year and 7-8 in PSAC play, while the Griffins dropped their third contest in a row, falling to 6-13 and 5-10, respectively.
 
With the victory on Wednesday, Edinboro matched its win total from last season when the Fighting Scots finished with a 10-16 overall mark.

Sheldon Brogdon had 11 points off the bench. 

Edinboro scored the first seven points of the game and would jump out to an 11-4 lead after a Tommy Scales jumper with 13:22 to play in the first half.
 
After Kameron Taylor knocked down a jumper for Seton Hill to cut the Edinboro lead to 11-6, the Fighting Scots used a 10-0 spurt fueled by four points from Scales to take a 21-6 lead with 8:51 remaining in the opening period.
 
The Griffins cut the Edinboro lead to 12 points on a Damjan Sredanovic 3-pointer with 6:29 left in the half, before the Fighting Scots went on a 10-2 run keyed by five points by Marrow to take a 20-point lead at 35-15 with 3:46 showing on the first half clock. Edinboro went into halftime with a 43-21 lead.
 
In the second half, a Spencer Casson layup minimized the Edinboro lead to 18 points at 54-36 with 12 minutes to play in the game. The Fighting Scots then constructed a 21-4 run, including a pair of 8-0 spurts over the next seven minutes to take their largest lead of the night of 35 points at 75-40 with 5:03 remaining in the contest.
 
Edinboro connected on 5-of-7 shots from behind the arc during the run, including a pair of treys from Sheldon Brogdon. Marrow ignited the run with a 3-pointer, while Quinn Lee Yaw closed the surge with a layup.
 
The Griffins closed the game on a 14-2 run to cut the final deficit to 77-54.
 
Marrow finished with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 2-of-2 from behind the arc. The redshirt junior guard hit 3-of-5 free throws to go along with five boards in the win.
 
Marrow also made a large impact on the defensive end, holding Seton Hill leading scorer David Windsor to 5 points on the night. Windsor, a 6'1'' guard, came into the game averaging 16.1 points per game but was 0-for-7 from the field on Wednesday.
 
Jaymon Mason scored 11 points, dished out a game and career-high eight assists while pulling down seven rebounds. The Edinboro native was 4-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-7 from long range.
 
Sheldon Brogdon chipped in 11 points off the bench, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from downtown.

Henri Wade-Chatman and Tommy Scales each added 10 points apiece for the Fighting Scots. Scales shot 5-of-7 from the field in the victory.
 
Casey Baker matched a game-high with seven rebounds.
 
Kameron Taylor paced all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting, while Damjan Sredanovic contributed 11 points for the Griffins.
 
Edinboro shot 50.8 percent (31-of-61) from the field in the contest, including 58.1 percent (18-of-31) in the first half. The Fighting Scots knocked down 42.3 percent (11-of-26) of 3-pointers and 44.4 percent (4-of-9) of shots from the free throw line.
 
Seton Hill connected on 39.3 percent (22-of-56) of field goals, including 33.3 percent (4-of-12) from behind the arc. The Griffins shot 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from the charity stripe.
 
Edinboro owned advantages of 38-31 in rebounding, 34-18 on points in the paint, 15-8 on points off turnovers, 10-6 on second-chance points, and 8-2 on fast break points. The Fighting Scots' bench also outscored Seton Hill's reserves 28-8.
 
Edinboro returns to action on Saturday, January 31 traveling to California (Pa.). Game time against the Vulcans is set for 5 p.m. from the Convocation Center
