EDINBORO, Pa. (October 16,2015) – The Edinboro University men's swimming team fell in it's home opener against Indiana(Pa.) by a score of 132-69 on Friday at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots had seven swimmers post PSAC qualifying times.
The quartet of
Justin Ransel,
Josh Beabout,
Alex Shugarts and
Micah Cattell earned the lone first place finish for the Fighting Scots in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29:26.
Catell placed second and posted a PSAC qualifying time of 22.34 in the 50-yard freestyle and Ransel posted a PSAC qualifying time of 54.38 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Beabout earned a second place finish and PSAC qualifying time of 4:57.50 in the 500-yard freestyle. He added a third place finish and posted a PSAC qualifying time of 10:15.34 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Freshman
Marcus Grosso placed second and posted a PSAC qualifying time of 1:47.20 in the 200-yard freestyle. Grosso also posted a PSAC qualifying time of 55.18 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Junior
Nick Wilkinson recorded a PSAC qualifying time of 56.90 in the same event.
Luke Fredrick took second place with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:01.71 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Finally,
Francis Folz placed second and posted a PSAC qualifying time of 48.38 in the 100-yard reestyle.
The Fighting Scots return to action on Friday, October 23 at the Westminster Relays in Wilmington, Pa. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
