EDINBORO, Pa. (October 24, 2015) – The Edinboro volleyball team extended its winning streak to 12 matches on Saturday afternoon with a four-game win over Seton Hill at McComb Fieldhouse. For the second day in a row, the Fighting Scots lost the first set, 25-23, then came back to win the next three by scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-19. Edinboro is now 25-2 overall and 14-1 in the PSAC West. Seton Hill fell to 19-8 and 10-5, respectively.
The victory is the 250th for head coach Missy Soboleski at Edinboro. Now in her 11th season as Edinboro's head coach, she has a 250-136 record, with her career ledger now standing at 383-314. She is now within ten victories of the school record for wins, held by Patrick McLane with 260 victories.
Edinboro had a trio of players with double-digit kills, led by Challen Litwiler with 13. The sophomore entered the match leading the PSAC in kills per game. She added 13 digs. Victoria Severo and Latoya Hutchinson added 11 kills and 4 block assists.
Vic Severo (13) and Sydney Trathen (12)Sydney Trathen contributed 48 assists, 4 total blocks, and 9 kills with a .750 hitting percentage. Senior libero Marah Maycock led in digs with 18, with freshman Megan Screptock adding 15.
Edinboro has a pair of road matches next weekend as the Scots begin the second half of competition against PSAC West teams. They play at Indiana(Pa.) on Friday, October 30, then play at Clarion on Saturday, October 31.
