INDIANA, Pa. (October 30, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team defeated Indiana (Pa.) by a score 3-1 to improve to 26-2 overall and 15-1 in the PSAC. With the win, The Fighting Scots increased their win streak to 13 games and have yet to suffer a loss against a PSAC West opponent.
After winning the first set 25-22, the Fighting Scots dropped the second set to IUP by a score of 24-26. The Fighting Scots then won two straight hotly contested sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22 to secure the victory.
Sophomore
Challen Litwiler led the Edinboro attack with 11 kills, while juniors
Latoya Hutchinson and
Victoria Severo totaled nine a piece. Sophomore
Sydney Trathen contributed seven kills and a team-high 31 assists in the contest.
Senior
Marah Maycock paced the Fighting Scots defensively with 25 digs. Litwiler and fellow sophomore
Taylor Palowski each totaled career-highs in digs in the match. Litwiler totaled 24 digs, while Palowski picked up 18. Severo made her presence felt on defense as well, contributing a block solo and four block assists.
The Fighting Scots are right back in action tomorrow as they travel to Clarion for a 1 p.m. match-up. The Scots hope for a repeat of the early season contest, in which they beat Clarion 3-1.
