CLARION, Pa. (October 31, 2015) - The Edinboro University volleyball team defeated Clarion by a score of 3-1 to improve to 27-2 overall and 16-1 in PSAC play on Saturday afternoon. Edinboro won the first two sets of the match by scores of 25-23 and 25-21 before Clarion picked up a win in the third set, 25-21. Edinboro sealed the victory with a 25-21 win in the fourth set.<br /> <br />With the win, the Fighting Scots clinched their first PSAC playoff berth since the 2011 season. The Fighting Scots have now won 14 straight games, the longest streak also since the 2011 season when the squad rattled off 16 straight.<br /> <br />Junior
Latoya Hutchinson led the Edinboro attack with a team-high 13 kills in the match. Sophomore
Challen Litwiler totaled 12 kills, while junior

Sydney Trathen paced the Fighting Scots offense with 43 assists, while also totaling eight kills and a team-high .400 hitting percentage.<br /> <br />Senior
Marah Maycock led the squad defensively with 21 digs. Litwiler added 19 of her own, while sophomore
Taylor Palowski picked up a career-high 19 digs in the match. Trathen made her presence felt on the defensive side, totaling career-highs with two block solos and five block assists.<br /> <br />The Fighting Scots return home to McComb Fieldhouse on Tuesday, November 3 for a 7 p.m. match with Slippery Rock. The Fighting Scots will be honoring four departing seniors prior to the contest.<br />
