Fighting Scots Snap Two Game Skid, Finish Regular Season Undefeated at Home

EDINBORO, Pa. (November 10, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team got back on track Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over visiting Ursuline to improve to 29-4 overall this season. While Ursuline dropped to 8-23 for the season.
 
Playing in front of a home crowd for the final time this regular season, the Fighting Scots won in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18 to finish a perfect 9-0 in the friendly confines of McComb Fieldhouse.
 
Sophomore Challen Litwiler led the Edinboro attack with a team-high 13 kills in the match, bringing her season total to 436, the twelfth-highest season total in program history. Junior Victoria Severo totaled seven kills and a team-high .462 hitting percentage. Freshman Megan Screptock earned five service aces in the win, while senior Marah Maycock picked up her 150th career service ace, good for fifth all-time. Sophomore Sydney Trathen and senior Katie Felix split setter duties in the match, totaling 14 and 13 assists, respectively.
 
Maycock led the Fighting Scots defensively with 19 digs, while Screptock totaled eight. Screptock also led the Fighting Scots with a block solo.
 
Next up for the Fighting Scots are two late-season PSAC showdowns this weekend. On Friday, November 13, Edinboro travels to Seton Hill for a 7 p.m. match and on Saturday, November 14, the Fighting Scots close out the regular season on the road against California (Pa.) at 3 p.m. The Fighting Scots have already clinched a home playoff game and with a win this weekend can clinch the top-seed in the PSAC West.
