BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 11, 2015) – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team turned in another strong performance against a nationally-ranked team but came up short as 18th-ranked Bloomsburg scored four of the last five goals to pull away 12-7. The loss leaves Edinboro with a 6-5 record, including 3-5 in PSAC action. Bloomsburg improved to 7-3 overall and 6-1 in league play. Four of Edinboro's five losses have been to ranked opponents.

Emily Peters followed with a free position goal at the 21:19 mark.
Bloomsburg would answer with a pair of goals in a ninety-second span to increase the lead to 8-5 with 18:19 to play. Purdy's goal at 15:49 closed the gap to 8-6, but that is as close as the Scots would get the rest of the way.
Julie Falk provided the Huskies with back-to-back goals, but Purdy would answer with a goal at 6:14 to make it 10-7. Bloomsburg would score to late goals to spoil Edinboro's upset bid.
Freshman
Paige Skinner proved huge in goal as she recorded 14 saves. Bloomsburg held a 33-17 advantage in shots.
Purdy ended the afternoon with three goals and an assist, with Peters also scoring three goals. Martin accounted for Edinboro's other goal and also had four assists. The junior became Edinboro's career leader in points with 143, breaking the record of 139 points held by Shannon Rohrich. She also has 60 points this season, leaving her two points shy of the school record she holds.
Edinboro will return to action on Tuesday, April 14 hosting Slippery Rock at 4 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
