Fighting Scots Remain Sixth in NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings

EDINBORO, Pa. (April 15, 2015) – The Edinboro men's tennis team remains six in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Rankings released on Wednesday, April 15. The Fighting Scots have won three matches in a row and own an 11-6 overall record and a 3-0 mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play, good for first place.
 
Bluefield State holds the top spot in the rankings with a 13-5 ledger on the season. West Liberty moved into second in the rankings, while Mercyhurst dropped to third in the region. West Virginia Wesleyan sits fourth followed by Charleston (W. Va.) fifth.
 
The NCAA regional rankings determine the postseason participants for the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Fighting Scots captured its fourth PSAC crown in school history last season, advancing to the NCAA Atlantic Regional 2 Tournament. Edinboro then claimed the Atlantic Regional 2 title, moving onto the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time in program history.
 
The Fighting Scots have a pair of PSAC regular season matches remaining this season against Bloomsburg and Kutztown. Edinboro will travel to Bloomsburg to take on the Huskies on Saturday, April 18 at 3 p.m., before facing the Golden Bears Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m. also in Bloomsburg, Pa.
