Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team scored a pair of PSAC wins over the weekend defeating West Chester and Millersville.
On Friday, the Scots hosted West Chester scoring a 7-0 victory. The Scots took the doubles point with
Leon Grassnickel and
Duarte Correia scoring a 6-1 win at number one and
Fabricio Sosa Pons and Gerardo Garrido teaming up for a 6-1 victory at number three.
Grassnickel scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Ashton Bunch at top flight singles. Sosa was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Nick Styliades at number two and Correia was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Alessandro Melotti at three.
The fourth singles went to
Arsen Tabaldyev 7-5, 6-2 over Juan Pablo Beirana Guzman.
Hassan Ammar defeated Thomaz Joly 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 and Garrido closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Anthony Abbott.
On Saturday, the Scots came back with another 7-0 win this time over Millersville.
Edinboro swept doubles competition with Grassnickel and Emil Tidman scoring a 6-2 win in the top doubles. Tabaldyev and Garrido won 6-4 and Sosa and Correia won 6-0.
Grassnickel topped Sandor Wulf 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles. Sosa was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Axel Duclos at number two. At third singles, Correia defeated Adrian Weisser 6-3, 6-0.
Tidman slotted in at number four scoring a 6-4, 6-1 win over Milan Urbanek. Tabaldyev was a 6-0, 6-3 winner over Paul Bagnouls. At number six Garrido won 6-0, 6-2 against Daniel Ducheyne.
