EDINBORO, Pa. (April 8, 2015) – The Edinboro men's tennis team is sixth in the initial NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings released yesterday. The Fighting Scots are 10-6 overall on the season and 3-0 in PSAC play.
Bluefield State owns the top spot in the rankings, followed by Mercyhurst second and West Liberty third.
Edinboro is also sixth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Regional Rankings. The Fighting Scots are coming off a 5-4 defeat over Mercyhurst, the second-ranked team in the region.
Bruno Borja paces Edinboro with 12 wins on the season (12-9), followed by
Vitor Albanese with 10 victories (11-2). Borja is seventh in the ITA Atlantic Regional Singles Rankings, while the duo of Albanese and
Brandon Romain are seventh in the doubles rankings.
Edinboro claimed the NCAA Atlantic Regional 2 title last season, advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
The Fighting Scots return to action on April 13 hosting Roberts Wesleyan in a non-conference tilt at 3 p.m.
