Edinboro Volleyball Looks to Keep Rolling in VSU Tournament

EDINBORO, Pa. (September 10, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team is looking to keep its hot start to 2015 rolling on Friday, September 11 as they head to Ettrick, Virginia for the VSU Tournament. The Fighting Scots will play a total of three matches over the course of the two-day tournament hosted by Virginia State University.
 
The Fighting Scots begin the weekend on Friday night against Charleston (WV) at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 1-3 this season.
 
Edinboro will begin the second day of the tournament taking on West Virginia State (2-0) at 1:30 p.m. before wrapping up the weekend against Glenville State (1-2) at 4 p.m.
 
The Edinboro squad is coming off a successful 2015 debut in the Hall of Fame City Challenge in which they went 3-1 during the two-day tournament. Two Fighting Scots were recognized for their outstanding play in the tournament. Victoria Severo and Sydney Trathen were named to the Hall of Fame City Challenge All-Tournament Team.
 
Severo currently leads the PSAC in hitting percentage (.539) and is the reigning PSAC West Volleyball Athlete of the Week.
 
The VSU Tournament continues a stretch of 15 straight road contests to begin the season. Edinboro does not make its home debut until Tuesday September 29, hosting Daemen at McComb Fieldhouse.
