EDINBORO, Pa. (September 28, 2015) – The Edinboro University women's soccer team looks to rebound against PSAC opponent Pittsburgh-Johnstown in a home match on Tuesday, September 29, following a 2-1 loss to Lock Haven on Saturday. The match gets underway at 6:00 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
Edinboro has a 5-3-0 overall record and a 4-2-0 PSAC record. The latest NSCAA Atlantic Regional rankings has Edinboro ranked sixth.
Two quick second-half goals by the Bald Eagles in the 54th and 57th minute put them ahead, 2-0, on Saturday. Freshman midfielder
Halle Hammer scored her third goal of the year for Edinboro in the 63rd minute to cut Lock Haven's lead in half, but that would be all of the scoring as Lock Haven defeated Edinboro, 2-1.
Senior
Jansen Hartmann leads the Fighting Scots in scoring with a total of 16 points on seven goals and two assists. She is ninth on Edinboro's all-time scoring list with 58 points, eighth with 21 goals, and fourth with 16 assists. Sophomore
Ashley Mutkus is second in scoring with nine points on three goals and three assists.
Sarah Baskey and
Sierra Davis have shared time in goal. Baskey has a record of 3-1-0 and a .583 save percentage, while Davis has a record of 2-2-0 and a .400 save percentage. Between the two of them, they have allowed a total of eleven goals and have recorded three shutouts.
Pittsburgh-Johnstown holds a 0-8-0 overall and PSAC record. The Mountain Cats suffered a 2-1 loss to Indiana (Pa.) in their last match this past Saturday.
Kim Bonnett and Kaitlyn Eckley lead the Mountain Cats in scoring, each with four points on two goals.
Mountain Cats' goalie Leigh Appolonia has allowed 21 goals and has totaled 52 saves.
The Fighting Scots defeated the Mountain Cats last year, 4-0. Hartmann, Mutkus,
Grace Kereky and
Becca Costello each had goals for Edinboro.
