Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 2 CANTON, Ohio (September 5, 2015) - The Edinboro University volleyball team split a pair of games on Saturday to conclude the two-day Hall of Fame City Challenge, hosted by Malone. The Fighting Scots wrapped up the weekend with a 3-1 record on the season after defeating Malone 3-1 in the first match of the day, before falling to Northwest Missouri State 3-1, later in the day.

EDINBORO DEF. MALONE 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 25-16)The Fighting Scots defeated Malone in the opening match of the day, prevailing in four games. Junior transfer
Victoria Severo led the attack with 16 kills and a .640 hitting percentage in the match.
Sydney Trathen contributed a team-high 47 assists in the match.
Latoya Hutchinson led the Fighting Scots defense with five blocks total, while
Jen Gruber and Severo also totaled four block assists each.
Challen Litwiler and
Marah Maycock both totaled a team-high 15 digs in the match.
NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE DEF. EDINBORO 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23)The Fighting Scots suffered the first loss of their young season in the final match of the two-day tournament against Northwest Missouri State. Litwiler led the Fighting Scots attack with 16 kills, while Trathen once again controlled the offense with a team-high 42 assists. Freshman
Hannah Cantrill posted a career-high .600 hitting percentage in the match. Gruber led the defense with four block assists in the contest.

The Fighting Scots will receive a week of rest before returning to action in the two-day VSU Tournament in Ettrick, Virginia. The Scots will play their first game of the tournament on Friday, September 11 at 6 p.m. against Charleston. They will wrap up the two-day tournament with a 1:30 p.m. contest against West Virginia State before closing the tournament with a 4 p.m. showdown against Glenville State.
