SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Edinboro women's volleyball team made it 14 straight wins on Tuesday night, winning at Slippery Rock in four games. The Fighting Scots prevailed by scores of 25-19, 25-27, 25-18, 25-23 to complete a string of five straight road matches. Edinboro is 14-4 overall and 7-0 in the Northwest Division. Slippery Rock is now 8-12 and 1-6, respectively.
The 14 straight wins are two shy of the school record of 16 set in 2010. A year ago, head coach
Missy Soboleski's team ran off 15 straight wins.
Three Fighting Scots reached double figures in kills, led by
Latoya Hutchinson's season-high 16 kills.
Challen Litwiler added 14 kills and
Victoria Severo 13.
Sydney Trathen had a season-high 50 assists while adding 13 digs and 6 block assists. Litwiler had 21 digs,
Jordan Van Oss 15, and
Megan Screptock 11. Hutchinson was credited with one block solo and 5 block assists, and Severo had 4 block assists.
The Fighting Scots play at home for the first time since September 24 on Friday, October 14, hosting Clarion at 7 p.m.
