Litwiler's Double-Double Propels Fighting Scots to Thirteenth Consecutive Win

GREENSBURG, Pa. (October 8, 2016) – Behind the strength of junior Challen Litwiler's third-straight double-double, the Edinboro University volleyball team notched its 13th consecutive victory with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-15) win at Seton Hill. With the win, the Fighting Scots improve to 13-4 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play. For the second day in a row, the Fighting Scots snapped an opponent's five-game winning streak, dropping Seton Hill to 13-5 and handing the Griffins their first loss in conference play to put them at 5-1.
 
Edinboro now just three games shy of tying the longest win streak in school history set by the 2010 squad.
 
Litwiler led the Fighting Scots in both kills (15) and digs (16) to record her third straight contest of double-figures in both categories. The senior duo of Victoria Severo and Latoya Hutchinson added nine and eight kills, respectively. Junior Sydney Trathen dished out 39 assists, her tenth-straight contest of 30-or-more assists.
 
Sophomore Megan Screptock was the second Fighting Scot to total double-digit digs, finishing with 13 digs. Severo led the Edinboro defense with two block assists while four other Scots totaled one block assist apiece.
 
Cassie Hausfeld and Rachel Satira led the Griffins with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Seton Hill recorded seven blocks in the contest, led by Leah Bisignani with five block assists. Satira contributed four block assists of her own.
 
The Fighting Scots will continue conference play on Tuesday, October 11 when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 7 p.m. match.
