EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team made it nine seasons with 20-or-more wins under head coach
Missy Soboleski with a hard-earned 3-0 win over East Stroudsburg at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots improved to 20-6 overall and remained in a tie for first place in the PSAC Northwest Division with a 12-2 record thanks to the 25-23, 27-25, 25-20 win over the Warriors. ESU fell to 11-17 and 3-11 in the PSAC Southeast Division.
East Stroudsburg hardly played like a team with just three conference victories. The Warriors held late leads in each of the first two games, but in both instances, the Fighting Scots rallied for the victory. Edinboro would finally take control of the match in the third set.
Challen Litwiler paced the Fighting Scots with 10 kills, adding a team-high 11 digs.
Latoya Hutchinson and
Victoria Severo had nine kills apiece, with Severo picking up three block assists.
Sydney Trathen had eight kills and 33 assists.
Jordan Van Oss contributed 10 digs.
ESU's Desiree Claxton finished with a match-high 24 kills, while Tina Predojevic had 17 assists and 10 digs.
Edinboro has little time to celebrate their 20th win, as the Fighting Scots are right back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, hosting Kutztown. The Golden Bears come in with a 5-20 overall record and a 2-12 record in the PSAC Southeast Division. The contest is the second of five straight home matches to conclude the regular season for the Fighting Scots.
