Edinboro Declared the Winner over Slippery Rock, 3-0

EDINBORO, Pa. – When the final votes were counted on Tuesday night, it was Edinboro 3 and Slippery Rock 0, as the Fighting Scots moved a step closer to the title in the PSAC Northwest Division with a 26-24, 25-14, 25-20 win. Edinboro improved to 22-6 overall and 14-2 in the Northwest Division, while The Rock fell to 12-18 and 4-12, respectively.

The Fighting Scots have now won five straight matches while looking to win the division. They are currently tied with Gannon, although the Lady Knights hold the tiebreaker thanks to a five-set win over the Scots in October.

However, Edinboro will host its two local rivals this weekend. Mercyhurst visits McComb Fieldhouse on Friday, November 11, with Gannon and Edinboro meeting on Saturday, November 12 with the divisional title potentially on the line. The top seed in the West will have the right to host the PSAC Championships.

Edinboro was unable to pull away in game number one before pulling out the win. The Fighting Scots dominated the second game, before pulling away late in the final game.

Victoria Severo paced the Fighting Scots with 13 kills and a .370 hitting percentage.
