MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (September 10, 2016) – The Edinboro University women's soccer team overcame a one-goal, second-half deficit on Saturday at Millersville, rallying for two goals to take a 2-1 PSAC victory. The win gave Edinboro its first 4-0-0 start since 2012, and a 3-0-0 league record. The Marauders dropped to 1-3-0 in both categories.
The Fighting Scots made their first road trip of 2016 a successful one, having beaten league-foe Shippensburg, 3-1, on Friday.
Edinboro and Millersville played to a scoreless first half, marking the first time this year the Fighting Scots were held to zero first-half goals; they had scored two first-half goals in each of their first three contests. The Fighting Scots fired eight shots in the opening session to the Marauders' three, with a 5-1 lead in shots on goal. Edinboro averted trouble when Alexandrea Powell's shot in the 29
th minute, Millersville's first shot of the match, hit the post. A follow-up shot by Sydnie Parker fell wide of the net. Shots for Edinboro by senior forward

The second half got off to an alarming start for the Boro when Powell connected for a Marauders goal in the 47
th minute, assisted by Stacie Hallinan, to give Millersville a 1-0 lead. Edinboro responded to its first deficit of 2016 with a pair of quick goals to put them in front. Sophomore defender
Abby Gillespie deflected a shot from the box into the net to tie the match in the 65
th minute, followed by a goal from freshman
Danielle Chatten 21 seconds later for a 2-1 Scots lead. It was Gillespie's first goal of the year, with Chatten's being her second.
The Edinboro defense held Millersville to just one shot the rest of the way to preserve the victory. The Fighting Scots led 15-6 in shots and 9-3 in shots on goal. Millersville was called on six offside penalties, with Edinboro called for only one.

Sarah Baskey finished with a pair of saves to improve her record to 4-0-0. Wolfe dropped to 1-3-0 after recording seven saves.

The Fighting Scots return home on Wednesday for a PSAC match versus Seton Hill at 6:00 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
