MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (September 30, 2016) – For the third straight contest, senior
Victoria Severo finished with a hitting percentage above .500 percent as the Fighting Scots won their tenth consecutive match with a 3-0 victory at Millersville on Friday night. With the win, Edinboro improves to 10-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the PSAC. Millersville dropped to 2-10 overall and is still in search of its first conference win at 0-3.
After taking the first two sets of the night handily, the Fighting Scots found themselves in an 18-15 hole in the third set. Following a timeout called by head coach
Missy Soboleski, Edinboro responded with a 10-3 to complete the three-set sweep. The run was highlighted by three kills from Severo.
Severo finished with a team-high 12 kills on 21 attempts for a .524 hitting percentage. She also added two block assists and a service ace. Fellow senior
Latoya Hutchinson added nine kills and was tied for the team-lead with three block assists.
Challen Litwiler and
Megan Screptock each totaled six kills apiece. Litwiler led the Scots defensively with 14 digs. Junior
Sydney Trathen paced the Edinboro attack with 31 assists and added three kills. Freshman
Jordan Van Oss finished with 13 digs.
Kelsi Ceriani led the Marauders with eight kills, while Erin Harman totaled seven kills and a 11 digs. Katie Laughman led Millersville with 12 digs.
The Fighting Scots have a quick turnaround, returning to action tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. taking on PSAC Central leading Shippensburg.
