ROME, Ga. – For the first time an Edinboro men's doubles team finished fourth at the ITA Oracle Cup. Seniors Vitor Albanese and Daniel Fernandez finished the tournament falling to a duo from St. Mary's(Tx), 6-1, 6-4 in the third place match on Saturday. The tournament was hosted by Berry University in Rome, Ga.
Heading into the tournament, the Fighting Scots duo had won their first 13 doubles matches on the season including the PSAC Doubles title and ITA Atlantic Regional title. They won their first match against the #4 seed before falling in the semifinals.
Albanese fell in the seventh place match in singles play to Matej Selecky of NYIT, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6.
The Edinboro men's tennis team will be off for the winter before returning to the courts on Saturday, February 3 at Walsh. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
