Four Different Fighting Scots Score in Win Over Mansfield

EDINBORO, Pa. – Four different players scored for the Edinboro women's soccer team on Sunday, as the Fighting Scots improved to 10-0-2 all-time against Mansfield in a 4-1 win.

The Fighting Scots (5-5-3, 4-5-3 PSAC) outshot the Mountaineers (0-11-0, 0-11-0), 31-2 on the day, and jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just 37 seconds into the contest. After Ashley Mutkus' shot on goal was blocked, Danielle Chatten collected the rebound and scored her fourth goal of the season. With the assist, Mutkus is tied for fifth place with 79 career points and is in a four-way tie for 11th place with 13 career assists.

Edinboro's lead increased to 2-0 just before halftime, as Brittany Hurey scored her first career goal at 43:41. From 30 yards out on the left side of the field, Hurey kicked the ball, which grazed off Mountaineer goalkeeper Dana DiCamillo's fingers and into the back of the net.

Shortly after halftime, Rebecca Manns scored her second goal of the season on a Chatten assist. Manns weaved her way through a defender, kicking a shot from 20 yards out in the middle of the field and past the freshman goalkeeper. Mutkus increased the Fighting Scot goal total on the day to four at 62:11, connecting on a free kick for her tenth goal of the season.

Abbey Korber put Mansfield on the board in the final minute of play. After a missed corner kick that was aimed at the far right side of the goal, Korber kicked the ball into the back right of the net for her first career goal. The Mountaineer goal ended a 44-0 scoring drought that started in its third contest of the season.

Sarah Baskey had one save on the day for the Fighting Scots, while DiCamillo had 10 saves for the Mountaineers.

The Fighting Scots start their final road trip of the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Seton Hill. The contest is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
