EDINBORO, Pa. –
Michael Kocher and
Tommy Horan both won two races, and ten swimmers qualified for the PSAC Championships in a 115-86 season opening loss against Indiana (Pa.).
Nick Bradford and
Marcus Grosso each also won a race, respectively.
Kocher won the 200-yard backstroke with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:00.03, and qualified in the 200-yard IM, finishing second with a time of 2:01.74. Horan won the 50-yard freestyle with a conference qualifying time of 22.32, and took second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a qualifying mark of 49.61. The two were also part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team with qualifying time of 1:28.47. They teamed with
Steven Sell and
Daniel Peng to win the event.
Bradford won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.21, qualifying for the PSAC Championships.
Grosso picked up the win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.32), claiming a spot at the conference championships. His time was more than five seconds better than the next finisher. With a time of 1:59.98, the junior qualified in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing second in a time of 1:59.98.
Peng also qualified in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing second with a time of 22.49. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
James Swick, Zack Bennett,
Ian McCombie and
Eric Marks, also qualified with a fourth place finish at 1:35.92.
Edinboro is back in action on Friday, October 27, as they head to the New Wilmington, Pa for the Westminster Relays hosted by Westminster University.
