EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University women's basketball team orchestrated a valiant fourth quarter rally that fell just short as they dropped an 83-74 PSAC Western division contest to Seton Hill on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Fighting Scots dropped their first home game of the season and their first in the last 17 games, snapping the longest streak since the 2011-12 squad ran off 18 in a row at McComb Fieldhouse. Edinboro is now 18-5 overall and 14-3 in conference action. The Griffins recorded their first win in program history against Edinboro, snapping a 16-game skid against the Fighting Scots to improve to 14-10 overall and 10-8 in the West.
Wednesday's contest was also the second annual "Hoops for Harlie" game, dedicated to the memory of former Girard standout Harlie Rae Bolt. Bolt tragically passed away following a short battle with leukemia. All proceeds raised throughout the day benefited "Halos for Harlie" Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Seton Hill's 83-point output was the most allowed by the Fighting Scots defense all season after entering the contest ranked third in the PSAC and 23
rd in Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 57.3 ppg.
