EDINBORO, Pa. - The Edinboro men's swimming team honored three seniors on Friday night, but the Fighting Scots fell to Clarion, 117-86 in their home finale. With the loss, Edinboro fell to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the PSAC, while Clarion improved to 3-3 and 3-2 in conference play.
Prior to the meet, four Edinboro swimmers were honored as part of Senior Day prior to the event.
Dylan Cerroni,
Eric Marks and
Jacobo Morazan were the three senior swimmers on the men's side.
Jackson Bangert and
Nick Bradford were part of the two first place relay teams against the Golden Eagles. They started the night by joining Cerroni and
Marcus Grosso in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:38.10. Their night concluded in the 400-yard freestyle relay, alongside
Tommy Horan and
Michael Kocher at 3:15.02.
Horan led Edinboro with two PSAC-qualifiers. He finished the 50 and 100-yard freestyles at 22.47 and 49.86, respectively. His qualifying time in the 100-yard freestyle was met by just six one-hundredths of a second.
Bradford, Kocher and Grosso were the other three Fighting Scots to register PSAC Championship times. Bradford qualified in the 500-yard freestyle with a second place finish at 4:59.92. Kocher ended the 200-yard IM in second place and qualified with a time of 2:03.27. Grosso came in third place in the 200-yard freestyle, qualifying at 1:48.61.
The Fighting Scots will start training for the PSAC Championships which take place February 21-24 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
