  • The Game Story:  With a shorthanded Edinboro squad starting at a second straight loss in Callie Wheeler's first home game as head coach, Michaela Barnes put the Fighting Scots on her back and carried them to an overtime victory over an East Stroudsburg squad picked to finish second in the PSAC East. Missing post players Ciara Rosten and Allison Thompson, Wheeler had to turn to her guards, and the smallest player on the floor turned in the biggest performance. The 5'5" junior set Edinboro single-game records for points (42), free throws made (19), and free throws attempted (24). The Fighting Scots trailed for most of the game, and found themselves down by nine points at 67-58 with just over five minutes remaining in the game. After scoring seven points at the half and entering the fourth quarter with 16 points, she exploded in the fourth quarter and overtime. Barnes scored 19 of Edinboro's 26 points in the fourth quarter, banking in a 3-pointer from the left wing with 1.2 seconds remaining to tie the game at 75-75. She scored Edinboro's last 11 points in regulation. Edinboro would trail by four at 84-80 with 2:45 left in overtime, but would score the final six points of the game. The Fighting Scots took the lead for good with 1:19 left to play at 90-89 on a pair of Barnes free throws. Michelle Jahn made three of four from the charity stripe for the final margin. Edinboro was playing its first home game of the season while beginning a stretch of five straight home games.
