HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams split the first four games to force a fifth game. Millersville looked for the sweep after winning the first two games by scores of 25-23 and 25-20. A young Edinboro squad rallied with wins of 25-16 and 25-20 in the next two games.

The Marauders answered with four consecutive points of their own and eventually took the lead for good at 9-8. That was part of a string of seven straight points, keyed by a pair of blocks, that boosted Millersville's lead to 14-8.
  • The Fighting Scots had one last rally left, running off three straight points to make the score 14-11. Megan Screptock accounted for a pair of the points with kills, but Katie Laughman's kill ended the contest.
