GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Edinboro would hang with a Slippery Rock team that came in with 11 straight wins for much of the game. SRU would build a 14-point lead in the first half at 30-16 with 6:47 remaining, as The Rock scored nine straight points.
  • Edinboro responded with the next six points on a 3-point play by Trey Staunch and Jaryn Simpson's 3-pointer to close to eight at 30-22 with 3:15 left in the half. That would be the deficit at the half, as well, with Edinboro trailing 34-26 while shooting 27.8 percent in the first half (10-of-36).
  • SRU scored a quick seven points in a row to start the second half and boost its lead to 41-26. Back came the Scots, closing to within seven at 49-42 on Daylon Harris' rebound hoop. That capped a run of seven straight points for Edinboro.
  • Not to be outdone, Slippery Rock answered with a Till jumper and Jared Armstrong's 3-pointer for a 54-42 advantage.
  • Still trailing by 12 at 61-49 with 11:07 remaining, Edinboro used a 12-4 burts to move to with four points at 65-61 with eight minutes left. That was the closest the contest had been since the first half.
  • Following an SRU timeout, The Rock proceeded to deal the final blow to the Scots, a run of 10 straight points, five by John Warren II, to build the lead to 75-61 with 4:08 to play. Kameron King ended the run with a jumper in the paint, but SRU scored the next eight points to complete an 18-2 run while making Edinboro's deficit 20 points at 85-65 with 2:40 remaining.
