MATCH STORYLINES
  • Edinboro will square off against Gannon for the third time this year, this time in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament. Gannon won both previous meetings, prevailing 3-1 at Gannon and 3-0 at Edinboro last Thursday. Edinboro owns a 16-13 overall record and finished with a 10-8 record in the PSAC Northwest. Gannon comes in with a 26-5 record and went 17-1 in PSAC action. The Lady Knights have run off 11 straight wins, all in three sets. Edinboro comes in as the number eight seed in the field, while Gannon is the number one seed.
  • Edinboro last appeared in the PSAC Tournament in 2017, and are in the conference tournament for the 11th time in head coach Missy Soboleski's 15th season. The Fighting Scots own nine PSAC championships, the last coming in 2001. Soboleski owns a 333-187 during her 15 seasons at Edinboro, and is 466-365 in 25 seasons as a head coach, including stints at her alma mater Gannon and Mercyhurst.
  • Cierah Jackson leads the Fighting Scots in kills with 372, boosting her career total to 1,115. That is good for ninth all-time. She has been in double figures in 24 of 29 matches. She stands third on the team in service aces with 40 and has 128 digs. The junior outside hitter has been named the PSAC Northwest Division Athlete of the Week twice this season. Jackson was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Javelina Volleyball Invitational. She has earned second team All-PSAC honors while leading the Fighting Scots in kills each of her first two seasons. 
  • Bella Burrelli has enjoyed an impressive freshman campaign.  A 6'0" outside hitter, she stands second on the team in kills (297), digs (250), and service aces (41).
  • Middle hitters Erica Sharp and Sally Sterkel have played a much larger role as the year has gone on. Sharp, a 6'2" freshman, leads the team with 85 total blocks and stands third in kills with 204, with a team-best .308 hitting percentage. Sterkel, a 6'2" sophomore, adds 158 kills and 41 blocks. Throw in junior Paige Morris (109 kills, 69 blocks) and the Scots have an impressive trio of middle hitters.
  • Alicia Eldredge controls the offense as the team's setter. She has 1,015 assists this year and ranks tenth in the career numbers with 1931. The sophomore also has a team-high 46 aces along with 205 digs.
  • Molly Breier became the 13th Fighting Scot with 1,000 career digs against Gannon. The junior libero has been on roll of late, with double-figure digs in the last 11 matches and 24 of 29 overall. She leads the Fighting Scots with 431 dig and has 1,038 for her career.
