Box Score (New/Sortable Format) CHEYNEY, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak in impressive fashion with a 109-49 win at Cheyney on Sunday afternoon. The Fighting Scots improved to 3-4 while beating the former member of the PSAC. Cheyney is now 1-5 while playing an independent schedule.

The 109 points are the most since the 2007-08 season, when the Fighting Scots defeated Temple Baptist, 118-17. The 60-point margin of victory is also the largest since that win. Edinboro has now won 18 straight games against Cheyney.

Five Fighting Scots scored in double figures, led by Michaela Barnes with 30 points, her third straight 30-point effort. The senior guard moved up two more spots on the career charts, now ranking eighth with 1,442 career points. She scored 31 points in each of her last two contests. She made 10 field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers, and went 8-of-10 at the line. Barnes had 24 points at the half.

Three players notched career highs. Monica Brown contributed 17 points, while Cheniya Sharpe and. Bridgette Shaffer added 16 points and 13 rebounds apiece. The point total was a career high for Sharpe, as were the rebounds for Shaffer. Jana Whaley had a career-high 10 points. Rana Elhusseini contributed seven assists.

Gianni Hill led Cheyney with 23 points.

Edinboro jumped out to a 35-12 lead after one period, as Barnes got off to a fast start with 10 points, and Shaffer had eight.  The lead would grow to 62-30 at the half, as Barnes added 14 more points and Sharpe dropped in seven.  The score was 87-41 after three quarters, as the bench took over for much of the final twenty minutes.

The Fighting Scots will now break for final exams before returning to action with another trip to the east in two weeks. They play at East Stroudsburg on December 20, then at Kutztown on December 21.
