Leva Tallies Four Goals In Road Loss To Seton Hill, 19-10

The Short Story:  Anna Leva scored four goals while Sidney Dobbins netted the ball in the cage twice as the Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell to Seton Hill, 19-10, Tuesday afternoon. In total six different Fighting Scots scored against the Griffins. Edinboro falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC while Seton Hill improved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Seton Hill scored the first seven goals of the game before Anna Leva scored her eighth and ninth goals of the season. Sidney Dobbins netted her fifth of the season in between Leva's two goals. 
  • The Griffins responded with three of their own to push the score back to 10-3 in favor of the home team. Edinboro would pull within five after Edinboro scored three of the next four goals. 
  • Mary Uplinger, Sophie DePalma, and Stephanie Chido all scored during the barrage. Seton Hill would score twice before the end of the first half to lead 13-6 at the break.
  • In the second half, the Griffins would lead by as many as 11 before Abi Kunz scored her second goal of the season with just over five minutes left, while Leva scored the last goal of the game just under one minute left in the game. 
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Edinboro scored a tied their season-high 10 goals, but gave up a season-high 19 goals.
  • The Fighting Scots led the Griffins in saves with Candance McDole making 11 saves in the loss. Kaitlyn Binotto made a pair of saves in the final six minutes. Seton Hill had seven. 
  • Both teams had a high number of turnovers with Edinboro giving up the ball 24 times while the Griffins gave it up 22 times. 
  • Anna Leva increased her team-lead in goals to 14 and is second on team in assists with four. Her 18 points leads the Fighting Scots.
  • Sophie DePalma leads the team with six assists this season. She is second in points for the Fighting Scots with 11
  • With her two goals, Sidney Dobbins moved into a tie for second with Mary Uplinger with seven goals. Uplinger has three assists to put her third in points with 10. 
  • Candance McDole made 11 saves while Kaitlyn Binotto made two in the final 6:02 of the game. McDole now has 74 on the season while Binotto has 14. 
  • Mackenzie Kilduff scored five goals for the Griffins while Keagn Pontious tallied four. Nine total Seton Hill players scored on the afternoon.
NEXT FOR THE FIGHTING SCOTS
  • Edinboro returns home on Saturday, March 23 when they host #8 East Stroudsburg inside Sox Harrison Stadium. The Warriors are 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC after downing Millersville on Tuesday, 14-5.
  • Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
