The Short Story:Â Â The Edinboro women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a 10-7 win against Gannon on Wednesday afternoon. It marked the first win for first-year head coach
LeighAnn Stauffer. After taking a 4-1 lead in the first half, the Fighting Scots found themselves tied at the break. The Golden Knights took a 5-4 just over two minutes in the second half, but Edinboro would go on a 6-2 run to pick up the victory. The win also marked the first PSAC win for the Fighting Scots since April 20, 2016 when they won a 9-6 win also over the Golden Knights. Edinboro improves to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC while Gannon falls to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Anna Leva score less than a minute and a half into the game to give Edinboro its first lead of the game. Stephanie Chido tallied her first goal of the game just over six minutes later to stake the Fighting Scots to a 2-0 lead.
- Caroline Mauck cut the lead in half a minute later, but a pair of goals from Sophie DePalma and Abi Kunz pushed the lead back to three with just under 10 minutes left in the first half.
- The Golden Knights would score the final three goals of the half to knot the score up at 4-4 at the break.
- Gannon would make it four-straight goals to take their first lead of the game with 27:42 left in regulation at 5-4.
- Less than two minutes later Kandyce Graham would knot the score up at 5-5 on an assist from Mary Uplinger.
- Sidney Dobbins would once again give the Fighting Scots the lead with just over 15 minutes left in the half on an unassisted shot. Less than a minute later Leva would score her second goal of the game and 17th of the season to once again Edinboro a two-goal lead on an assist from Desiree Doucette.
- The Golden Knights made it a flurry of goals pulling within one less than a minute after Leva's goal.
- Dobbins would score her second and third goals in less than five minutes for her 10th and 11th goal of the season to give the Fighting Scots the 9-6 lead.
- Leva netted her third goal of the game as well with 6:02 left in the game on an assist from Dobbins.
- Gannon would score with 2:39 left but it wasn't enough as the Fighting Scots held on for the 10-7 win.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Both Sidney Dobbins and Anna Leva scored three goals in the win. Dobbins second goal would prove to be the game winner.
- A total of six different Fighting Scots scored in the game. In addition to Dobbins and Leva, Abi Kunz, Sophie DePalma, Stephanie Chido, and Kandyce Graham all put the ball in the back of the net.
- Dobbins also assisted on a pair off goals to total five points in the game. Leva, Graham, Mary Uplinger and Desiree Doucette all assisted on goals.
- Candace McDole recorded 10 saves on 17 shots to earn her first win of the season, playing all 60 minutes in the cage.
- Leva leads the Fighting Scots this season with 23 points on 18 goals and five assists. Dobbins moves into second place on the team with 13 points on 11 goals.
- Erin Rotondo scored four goals for Gannon with four different Golden Knights scoring.
- Edinboro led Gannon in Shots (29-27), shots on goal (23-17), turnovers (19-21), and draw controls (12-7). The Golden Knights led in free-position shots (7-2) and saves (13-10). The teams both had 18 successful clears on the day.
