  • The Short Story: Edinboro opened PSAC action in impressive fashion. After several long matches in recent weeks, the Fighting Scots needed just three sets to put away the visiting Bald Eagles. Edinboro would dominate play in the first two sets. Lock Haven battled back in the third set and held a 24-22 lead, only to see Edinboro score the final four points. As has been the case all year, Cierah Jackson led the Fighting Scots with 14 kills. The junior has now led the team in kills in 11 of 12 matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first set started off back-and-forth, with five ties and three lead changes. That changed when Edinboro took a 7-6 lead. That was part of a run that saw Edinboro score six of seven points to go ahead 11-7. The Bald Eagles pulled to within 12-10, but Edinboro spurted again, this time with a 6-2 run, capped by a Cierah Jackson kill. The Fighting Scots would finish the match with the final six points. Freshman Bella Burrelli had five kills in the set as Edinboro hit a robust .407.
  • The second set started off close, as well, but the set featured just three ties and a pair of lead changes. Jackson led the way with four kills. Edinboro would hit just .029, but LHU was even worse at -.158. The last tied came at 4-4, as Edinboro scored seven of the next eight points. Lock Haven would get no closer than five points the rest of the way.
  • Lock Haven looked poised to win set three after rallying from a 19-15 deficit to take a 24-22. A pair of Erica Sharp kills tied the match at 24-24, and Jackson followed with a kill to give the lead back to Edinboro. An LHU hitting error sealed the win. Edinboro had 16 kills in the set, seven of those by Jackson.
