Depleted Boro Squad Muscles Up with Slippery Rock Before Finally Falling 79-73

The Fighting Scots are now 5-12 overall and 2-11 in PSAC action, while SRU improved to 10-9 and 6-7 in league play. The game turned out to be a typical Edinboro-Slippery Rock affair. Seven of the last ten meetings have been decided by six points or less.

While Edinboro would not lead again in the half, Turner Kurt's 3-pointer with 23 seconds left pulled the Scots to within 38-37 at the half.

Thanks to an 18-5 burst, the Fighting Scots pulled to within a point at 70-69, with Kurt leading the way  The 6'8" sophomore made it 70-66 with his fifth 3-pointer of the game. He would make one-of-two free throws, then added a drive to make it 70-69 with 2:46 remaining.

Unfortunately, Slippery Rock proved too much down the stretch. Amante Britt scored on a jumper, then registered a steal and layup for a 74-69 advantage with just two minutes to play. Alex Jay's rebound basket cut the deficit to 74-71, but Robinson countered with a jumper with 1:06 left.

Edinboro would pull to within three once again on a pair of Simpson free throws, but just 25 seconds remained. Two seconds later, Robinson made it 78-73 with a pair of free throws. Following an Edinboro miss, Till closed out the scoring with a free throw.

Edinboro would end the day shooting 43.9 percent from the floor (25-of-57), including 10-of-30 on 3-pointers, and was 13-of-16 at the line. SRU finished at 41.5 percent (27-of-65), making 9-of-26 3-pointers, and made 16-of-23 free throws.
