Staunch, Coleman Pace Five Seniors in Loss to Slippery Rock

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team recognized five seniors on Senior Night prior to Wednesday's game with Slippery Rock. Two of those seniors, Trey Staunch and Anthony Coleman, then combined for 41 points as the Fighting Scots dropped a 95-60 decision to The Rock.

The loss leaves Edinboro at 5-20 overall and 2-19 in the PSAC West heading into the final game of the season on Saturday, February 29 at Seton Hill. Slippery Rock improved to 15-12 and 11-10, respectively.

Edinboro's five seniors were Anthony Allen, Coleman, Steven Freeman, Daylon Harris, and Staunch. Staunch continued his strong late-season run as he finished with 23 points, making 8-of-12 field goals and 7-of-7 free throws. He boosted his career point total to 957 points in three seasons.

Coleman added 18 points along with a team-high 9 rebounds. Allen, meanwhile, pulled down 7 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. Harris would finish with 8 points, including a pair of crowd-pleasing dunks.

Slippery Rock would have six players in double digits, led by Micah Till with 23 points, along with 7 rebounds. Donovan Walker added 13 points, with Amante Britt and Jason Fowlkes contributing 11 points apiece. Lashon Lindsey had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Will Robinson Jr. came off the bench to score 10 points.

Edinboro would end the night shooting 37.9 percent from the floor (22-of-58), making 3-of-21 3-pointers, and went 13-of-19 at the line. Slippery Rock came in 47.4 percent from the floor (36-of-76), but The Rock bombed away from long distance to make 14-of-31 3-pointers. SRU was 9-of-15 at the line.

Slippery Rock held a 46-36 advantage on the glass, including 16 offensive boards. Edinboro was guilty of 18 turnovers against a pressing SRU defense, while The Rock committed eight turnovers. SRU held a 25-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
