EDINBORO, PA - Edinboro begins their PSAC campaign on Friday Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. where they face Indiana (Pa.) at the McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots last action was back in April at the PSAC Championships, where they finished sixth overall.
Edinboro will be eager to get their season underway after their intra-squad meet, with many competitive races amongst the team.
Luke Edmonds was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.47. Kevin Morgan finished second with Colton Dvorak in third, respectively.
A tightly contested 50-yard freestyle race was won by Ted Kinney with a time of 21.75, second was Frank Barger (23.27) and third was Sean Mitcho (23.82). Ted Kinney was also the eventual winner in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing at 1:00.67. Luke Edmonds (1:01.78) finished second in another competitive swim, closely followed by Jacob Neal (1:02.23) in third.
Gerardo Ruiz finished the meet with three first-place finishes, first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.37, then the 100-yard backstroke finishing at 57.19. Finally in the 500-yard freestyle, Ruiz finished at 5:17.17 to win out against Caleb Dankle who finished at 5:32.84.
Frank Barger placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.59, second was Sean Mitcho at 53.84, and in third was Aaron Frederick at 54.95.
Kevin Morgan won the final race of the meet in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing at 1:04.88 after leading all the way. Second place finisher was Rich Certuche at 1:08.00 and Colton Dvorak took third at 1:18.14.
Race meet is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse against Indiana, Pa.
