EDINBORO, PA - Edinboro Women were able to record their fourth straight home victory of the season on Wednesday evening against Seton Hill, beating them 2-1 on the night. Goals coming from
Jess Frank and
Reece Enochs.
The game against Seton Hill saw a physical game, with both teams looking to play quick once they recovered the ball. The deadlock was broken on the
25-minute mark. A free-kick on the edge of the 18-yard box from
Jess Frank wrong footed the Griffins goalkeeper to give Edinboro the lead and score her first goal of the season.
Edinboro started the second half on the front foot.
Morgan Wissner came close when she latched onto a loose ball but was unable to take advantage. Eight minutes later on the 60-minute mark
Reece Enochs was presented with a similar opportunity, Reece made no doubt with the finish, firing the ball with her left foot to score her first goal of the season.
Seton Hill returned the pressure to try and get back into the game. With eight minutes remaining they converted their own free-kick. Mikayla Moyer sent in a dangerous ball that found its way through the players attacking in the box and found the net untouched.
Edinboro remained strong and secured the 2-1 victory. The victory was a great team effort with standout defensive performances from
Cameron Bujnoski and
Maggie Fragapane on the night.
The Fighting Scots look to recover quickly with their next game scheduled for Friday Oct. 8, Kickoff 1 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
